A Break from Living in a High Stress Environment

This winter, during our home visits, ten-year-old “Peter” kept telling us that he couldn’t wait for the start of our spring 2023 Playhouse. Peter lives with his single parent and a sibling with high special needs. Much of the time Mom is in the hospital caring for her older child and Peter is often looking for ways to have fun and get a break from the reality of living in a high stress environment. When he meets our home visit volunteers, he is always excited to see them, asking when the next Playhouse will be. Peter enjoys the home visits that go on all year, but he really enjoys our in-house programming and being in the highly interactive environment of the Saturday Playhouse. His Mom is supportive as well, as our program is free and provides transportation to and from home. All economic and transportation barriers are removed for this single mom, and she can happily send her son, knowing that he will be cared for, while she can attend to her other child. Our Playhouse began on March 18th and will continue to June 17th and Peter is now happily attending! Thanks to you, your support helps kids like Peter, who are eager to attend our Saturday Playhouse, shake off the winter doldrums and open their hearts to faith and reaching their dreams once again.
