Saturday, June 17th, was our last official Playhouse date for the season and we decided to celebrate CityKidz and the Kidz with our first-ever, definitely-not-our last, Carnival. More than 50 kids living in low-income circumstances from Overbrook and Caldwell were bussed to the Playhouse for this amazing event for two hours of fun! There was cotton candy, pizza, chips, to feed a hungry crowd and plenty of activities for them to take part in. From mask making, to relay races, to the photo booth with Batman and a special Play-A-Maze toy testing station, there was something for every child to enjoy and take part in!
Many thanks to Power to Change students, who planned, facilitated, and funded part of the Carnival. These students came to Ottawa from across Canada to support various Ottawa organizations. Thanks to Play-A-Maze rep, Leonid Shafir, who donated his time and toys for our kids to try. Thank you to Fairytale Princess Parties and Batman, and our faithful volunteers and staff, for making this event an extra special, fun and safe event for everyone!
