When Sharon Wood first heard Wendy speak about CityKidz Ottawa in 2017, she knew instantly: “This is the charity I’ve been looking for.”
Living on a fixed income in Elliott Lake, Sharon has never let distance or limited resources stop her from making a difference. After attending Wendy’s presentation at her church in Ottawa, she became a faithful monthly supporter—and even took two buses just to visit the CityKidz Playhouse in person. “It was a long journey,” she says, “but worth it. I saw love everywhere—volunteers, birthday celebrations—it was beautiful.”
What’s even more inspiring? Sharon believes so deeply in the mission of CityKidz that she subsequently added CityKidz Regina to her monthly giving, extending her impact to another community in need. “A lot of people give to overseas charities, but I believe it’s just as important to help the vulnerable in your own backyard,” she shares.
Sharon continues to support both sites from afar, grateful for the regular updates that show her how her giving is changing lives. “I always know my support is making a difference.”
Thank you, Sharon, for your unwavering generosity and for believing so fully in what CityKidz is doing across the country.
